MICROSOFT INNOVATION CENTER NEARLY READY FOR NEXT-GEN BUSINESS
High-tech workspace in the Flatiron building welcomes first companies in January.
The new Microsoft Innovation Center, a next-gen, high-tech workspace in the Flatiron Building downtown at 84 Peachtree Street, plans to open to the public in January. The project is managed by Lucror Resources.
“We envision the MIC at Flatiron City becoming a destination for entrepreneurs, academia and corporations,” Arun Nijhawan, managing principal at Lucror Resources, announced at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday.
“It's a place for people with diverse backgrounds to meet, exchange ideas, leverage their respective strengths and truly innovate."
The center will house the Women's Entrepreneurship Initiative (WEI) in addition to dozens of other young companies.
Individuals will also be able to rent space and share the center's resources, which will include a dining area on the first floor, top-of-the-line Microsoft products, and even a 3D printer.
Final renovations are still being made to portions of the building, but all are expected to be completed by January.
